Steering Fort Worth towards Mobility

Do you drive in Fort Worth? Live in Fort Worth? Are you concerned with traffic in Fort Worth? Do you walk or ride your bike in Fort Worth? Do you use public transportation?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, mark your calendars for calendars for any of the public meetings scheduled between April 7 and April 13, 2015 (details listed below). The City of Fort Worth is updating its Master Thoroughfare Plan (MTP) and now is the time to weigh in with your thoughts and concerns and to get your questions answered. The MTP is the long-range plan that identifies the location and type of roadway facilities that are needed to meet projected long-term growth within the city. The most recent update was in 2009. Since 2009, the population of Fort Worth has increased by 60,750, nearly 8.5 percent. This growth has occurred in both suburban and urban areas of the city.

Creating a livable and walkable city has long been a guiding principal for city leaders and citizens alike in Fort Worth. The commitment to improving transportation choices remains steady, and key goals of the current Master Thoroughfare Plan update include improving street and pedestrian connectivity and increasing the multi-modal transportation options through integrated planning. The City of Fort Worth values the input of its citizens. Make plans now to attend any of the following public meetings:
