2011 AHNA BOARD MEMBER BIOS

CHRISTINA PATOSKI (President) has lived in Arlington Heights for more than thirty years and has been an active member of AHNA since its founding in 1999, serving as the President from 2006 through  2008.   She represented AHNA on the Montgomery St. Committee, the West Side Alliance, Camp Bowie Council and on the League of Neighborhoods Gas Drilling Committee.  In 2008, she traveled to Virginia to the National Neighborhood of the Year awards where AHNA was a finalist after being named Fort Worth’s Neighborhood of the Year. A freelance writer and photographer, she graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in journalism and has worked at KXAS, NPR and Newsweek Magazine.

KELLY JO NIAL (Vice President) has lived in Arlington Heights since 1995, an active member of AH Citizens on Patrol Code Blue Crime Watch since 1998, served as Vice President of AHNA in 2009-10 and is the current Secretary of AHNA.  She also Chairs the neighborhood’s Animal Concerns Committee, member of the AHNA Yard of the Month Committee and past member of the AHNA Zoning Committee.  Kelly Jo has her B.S. in Medical Technology and currently works as a Microbiologist at Texas Health Harris Methodist Southwest.  She collects and restores electric clocks, fans and other Antiques, and loves all creatures great and small.

DANA KING (Secretary & Past President) began as a member of the AHNA Traffic Committee in 2007 and joined the Executive Committee in 2008.  She is current President of the association and served as Secretary in 2009-2010.  Dana also heads up the New Neighbor Welcome Committee for Arlington Heights Neighborhood.  She has a B.A. in Environmental Design from Texas A&M and a Masters degree in Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington.  Dana work for Icon Architects as a licensed Architect.

RENEE TIDWELL (Treasurer) has been the AHNA Treasurer since 2006.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington and works as the County Auditor of Tarrant County.  She is a member of the AICPA and the Texas Society of CPAs where she served several terms on the Executive Board and as President of the Fort Worth Chapter.  Renee, with her husband Don, enjoys restoring homes in Arlington Heights.

BETH KAUFFMAN (Director at Large) is a member of the AHNA Zoning Committee. A graduate of TCU, Beth is the Treasurer of Kendavis Finance Company and Great Western Drilling. She has lived in Arlington Heights for more than ten years and is an avid runner, gardener, animal lover, and football fanatic.

DAVE MARSHALL (Director at Large) Has served on the AHNA Zoning Committee for the past three years and currently is the Chair of that Committee.  A Graduated of the University of Kansas, Dave is a re-purposed aerospace engineer.  He is now an entrepreneur with small businesses in both custom design/furniture and Laser security marking and custom engraving.  He has also served in the South Hi-Mount PTA in various positions including Vice President and President.  Currently he serves on the board of directors as President for the Woodturners of North Texas.  Dave and his wife, Tracy, and three daughters have been residents of Arlington Heights for over 22 years.

MAKENZIE HAWLEY CARPENTER (Director at Large) Has served as President of AHNA January 2009 to May 2010 and has been active with the association since 2008. She is current Vice President of the association.  She has also served as the association’s vice president as well as on the AHNA Zoning and Yard of the Month Committees.  Makenzie hold a B.A. in Journalism from the University of North Texas and a Masters in Urban and Public affairs from the University of Texas at Arlington.  She currently works as a freelance writer and copy editor for corporate clients. She has also worked on several federal grants for local non-profit agencies.

SERGIO YANES (Director at Large) Sergio worked as the Chair of the Western Ave Planning Committee. He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Engineering Management from the George Washington University and was a Fulbright Scholar to Mexico. He is a registered Professional Engineer and works as a project manager for CP&Y, Inc., a local civil engineering firm.
