More than 3,300 volunteers fanned out across the city for this year’s annual Cowtown Cleanup event. The AHNA group focused their litter pickup efforts on Calmont Avenue between Clover Lane and Montgomery St. By the end of the day, they collected twenty-four bags of trash, including some unusual items, such as a pair of manicure sandals, a cow feed bag, an animal skull, and an opposum carcass. The City of Fort Worth awarded AHNA’s Chris Cisneros first prize for the “Wackiest Item” contest.

This was the 36th year for the Cowtown Cleanup. It’s the city’s largest annual cleanup event. All participants received gloves, trash bags, and hot pink t-shirts emblazoned with “#GREEN STARTS HERE Fort Worth, Texas.”
