CITIZEN’S FIRE ACADEMY
The Fort Worth Fire Department begins fire academy classes for 2013 on April 2. Classes last two hours for eight consecutive weeks on Tuesday evenings starting at 7:00 pm. There are a limited number of spaces. Any resident of Ft. Worth over the age of 19 who is a high school graduate will be considered by submitting an application.
Classes cover bystander CPR, automated external defibrillators, arson investigation, communications, fire safety tips, as well as visits from Technical Rescue and Dive Team members.
Following completion of the academy classes, participants will have the opportunity to become volunteers assisting Fire Safety Education at various events throughout the city, including smoke detector drives, Mayfest, National Night Out, local festivals.
