City Celebrates Arbor Day, Announces First Heritage Trees April 24

Join the City of Fort Worth Parks and Community Services Department Forestry Section as it celebrates Arbor Day April 24.
The event starts at 9 a.m. at the site of the John Peter Smith Oak, 3210 W. Lancaster Ave., between University Drive and Arch Adams Street in the Cultural District. The city’s first designated Heritage Trees will be announced, and refreshments will be served.
2009 marks Fort Worth’s 30th year of recognition by the National Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA. This year also is the centennial of the Parks and Community Services Department.
