Vacant and Boarded-Up Structures Ordinance Changes: Presentation

Recently, Building Standards, a division of the Code Compliance Department, held two meetings to get input from the community on proposed changes to the city ordinance addressing vacant and boarded-up structures. The meetings were held at 6:30 p.m. May 21 and May 28 at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.
The proposed ordinance changes would allow a reasonable time for a structure to be boarded, require registration, a compliance plan and a fee if the structure is not rehabilitated in a reasonable length of time, and define minimum boarding and securing standards.
