Dedication Set for National Register of Historical Places, March 25

Fort Worth Library will celebrate the dedication of a plaque honoring the listing of the original site of the Our Mother of Mercy School – now a part of the Ella Mae Gratts Shamblee Branch Library – in the National Register of Historical Places at 5:30 p.m. March 25.

Located in the Evans & Rosedale Village – part of the Commercial Corridors Revitalization Strategy – the Tucker Building is now home to the Shamble Performance Hall. The plaque is located in the Literacy Garden that joins the new facility and the revamped building.

Dolores Owens, chair of the Library Advisory Board, will preside over the ceremony. Mayor Pro Tem Kathleen Hicks and District 5 Councilmember Frank Moss have been invited to participate.

A reception is planned for immediately after the plaque ceremony.
