FEBRUARY MEMBERSHIP MEETING

February 13, 2025 · Filed Under Events and News

It’s time for the February membership meeting of Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association.

Tuesday February 18 at 6:30pm
Fort Worth Firefighters Hall
3855 Tulsa Way at Crestline Rd.

Everyone is always welcome.

Guest speaker: Jennifer Dyke, Assistant Director of Transportation and Public Works Department – Stormwater Management Division, will discuss the newly designated local flood risk areas in Fort Worth, including those in the three Arlington Heights watersheds.

In July 2024, Fort Worth City Council voted to adopt new local flood risk designations.  Jennifer will present the extra development regulations that are now required for all new construction in these areas.

Councilwoman Macy Hill will join the AHNA meeting after the regularly scheduled City Council meeting that same evening.

The Western Arlington Heights watershed covers several areas
in orange that are prone to flooding during intense downpours.
If your home is in the orange area, you are in a local flood risk area.

More than $10 million municipal dollars have been invested
in the Central Arlington Heights watershed for mitigation projects
designed to alleviate flooding that occurs there during torrential rain events.

The Eastern Arlington Heights watershed received much
needed drainage relief after enormous storm drainpipes
were installed in the area during construction for Dickies Arena.

We’ve invited our neighbors from Crestline Area Neighborhood Association, Crestwood Neighborhood Association, Monticello Neighborhood Association, North Hi Mount Neighborhood Association and West Byers Neighborhood Association to join us for this informative meeting.
