FIRE STATION 18 BIRTHDAY PARTY RECAP
Sunday October 19 couldn’t have been a more perfect day for an outdoor celebration. This was the 102nd birthday for Station 18, the oldest operating fire station in Fort Worth. It’s smack in the middle of Arlington Heights on Camp Bowie Boulevard and Carleton Avenue.
Station 18 firefighters (left to right) James Simmons, Francisco Chairez Martinez, Troy Clark and Bianca Campbell gave tours of the fire truck and inside the fire station.
AHNA pulled out all the stops to make this year’s party extra special. There was something for everyone. This year’s silent auction proved to be super successful.
As always, it’s a team effort that brings together our local business owners, organizations and citizen volunteers to pull it off.
One of the highlights of the party is watching City Councilwoman Macy Hill hatchet the beautiful birthday cake.
It’s hard to beat Bluebonnet Bakery’s delicious and artful cakes.
Winslow’s Wine Café owner Joe Berry (in cowboy hat) is a faithful mainstay of this annual party. With him this year were (left to right) Angel Baker, Courtney Sebastian and Winslow’s Chef Miguel Ceron.
This was the first year for Fort Worth Nature Center & Wildlife Refuge to participate in the birthday party. Michael Perez, Education Manager at the Refuge, demonstrated the friendly nature of a box turtle.

The bounce house is a sure winner with the kids. This year’s bounce house spotlighted an action-packed fire truck theme.
Fort Worth firefighters handed out fire safety information, free plastic fire helmets and the chance to hop into a miniature fire truck.
The Texas Girls’ Choir’s home is in the building across the street from the fire station. The girls like to contribute to the party by handing out delicious lemonade.
Creative face painting and free Curly’s custard–what more can you ask for? Behind the kiddoes is the popular silent auction table.
