FORT WORTH FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
The Fort Worth Fire Department is accepting applications for fire trainee through April 16. To qualify to take the entrance exam, applicants must meet these minimum requirements:
- High school diploma or GED certificate or 12 semester hours of college
- 18 to 35 years of age (cannot have reached 36th birthday by date of training class certification)
- Valid Class C driver license (will be required to obtain Class B while in training)
Candidates accepted to the Fire Academy will receive a base salary of $3,104 per month while in training ($37,253 annually). Upon graduation, base pay increases to $3,999 per month ($47,986 annually).
Applications will be accepted only through April 16 and must be submitted online at FortWorthGov.jobs. Interested applicants without a computer or Internet access can use computers at any Fort Worth Public Library, the City of Fort Worth Human Resources Department, 1000 Throckmorton St. or at the Fort Worth Fire and Police Training Center, 1000 Calvert St. (The center will be closed April 11.)
