IMPORTANT DATES FOR UPCOMING 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
Arlington Heights is known for a lot of wonderful things, but high voter turnout is not one of them. It’s time to do something about that, especially since this year’s pandemic creates more voting challenges than usual. Below are some important dates and information:
Monday October 5, 2020
Last day to register to vote in Texas if you aren’t already registered. You must apply by mail–you cannot register via email. Pick up application forms at any post office, library or at City Hall and mail them or drop them off in person at Tarrant County Elections Office at 2700 Premier St., Fort Worth 76111.
Tuesday October 13, 2020
First day of early voting in person in Texas. Locations have not yet been published, but check at the Tarrant County Elections website soon.
Friday October 23, 2020
Deadline to apply for absentee ballots in Texas. This date is when applications (not ballots) must be received, not postmarked. This can be done on line or by mail. Citizens must request absentee ballot forms every year–it’s not a one-time request. When voting absentee, ballots must be postmarked by 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 3, 2020 and received by Wednesday November 4, 2020.
