News from the Museum of Science and History
Construction Update
As construction on the new Museum of Science and History moves forward, most of the activity will take place inside the building. In addition to interior framing, partitions and structural work, contractors also are working on the storm drainage system and electricity. Outside, the subroofing of the new planetarium is complete. Final roofing will be completed as weather permits. We all look forward to seeing that bright purple finish on the planetarium dome! Brick and tile work is progressing, and stonework has begun on the Urban Lantern facade.
PUT THE PURPLE COW ON YOUR LUNCH OR DINNER
MENU APRIL 21 AND SUPPORT THE MUSEUM!
Here’s a fun, easy and tasty way to support the Museum’s new building campaign: take the family to The Purple Cow for lunch or dinner on Tuesday, April 21. That’s “Museum of Science and History Day” when 15 percent of your total check will be given back to the Museum. It’s that easy! No flyer or coupon is required. Just be sure to tell your server that you are there to support the Museum. The Purple Cow is located in Chapel Hill Village, at the corner of I-30 and Hulen Street (right across from Arlington Heights High School). Hours are 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. so you can go for lunch or dinner. Or both! (Yeah, it’s THAT good!) Tell your friends, neighbors and everyone you know and “mooove” in that direction on April 21.
For other ways you can be a part of the Museum’s building campaign and help Light the Lantern, call 817-255-9315.
