NOVEMBER YARD OF THE MONTH

November 12, 2021 · Filed Under Events and News
Two years ago, the front yard at 3728 Linden Avenue was a barren, treeless landscape. Today, it’s transformed into a winner.

When Sherry Thompson moved into her 1926 bungalow in October 2019, the front yard was grassless and covered in pea gravel. In short order, Sherry got out her wheelbarrow and moved the gravel to her backyard. A neonatal nurse practioner, Sherry had an irrigation system installed before sodding in St. Augustine grass. Pink is Sherry’s favorite color, so she chose pink impatiens, roses and boxwoods to fill in the plant beds and selected two magnolia trees and a Japanese maple to finish things off.

Congratulations to Sherry for the hard work she put in to turn around her front yard. She received a $25 gift certificate to Archie’s Gardenland, courtesy of Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association, and a free annual AHNA membership.

If you’d like to nominate a yard, even your own, please send your address to president@arlingtonheightsna.com.
