Come to a free one-day festival and discover what a native blackland prairie looks, smells and feels like.

The fourth annual Prairie Fest is planned from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 25 at Tandy Hills Natural Area, 3400 View St. Tandy Hills is adjacent to I-30 and less than five minutes from downtown Fort Worth.

Noted for its unusually complete collection of prairie flora, the natural area contains more than 500 native plant species with a stunning springtime show of wildflowers.

Designated a natural area in 1987, the prairie park is managed by the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge and the City of Fort Worth Parks and Community Services Department.
