Public Meetings Scheduled on Bicycle Transportation Plan

April 12, 2009 · Filed Under Events and News

Come hear about the city’s plans to improve bicycling in Fort Worth.  Four meetings are scheduled and the same presentation will be made at each meeting.  Residents can give feedback on the recommended projects, programs, and policies.

City staff has spent the past year and a half developing a plan to improve conditions for bicyclists and to make bicycling a safe and attractive transportation alternative.  City staff incorporated citizens’ ideas from public meetings and surveys in 2007.

Best practices from around the country, tailored to the unique attributes of Fort Worth, were included.  The result is Bike Fort Worth, a comprehensive bicycle transportation plan.  Here are the meeting dates and locations:

Central Sector:

April 21, 6:30 p.m., Central Library Chappel Meeting Room, 500 W. Third St.

West/Southwest Sectors:

April 23, 6:30 p.m., Lockheed Martin Recreation Association River Pavilion, 3400 Bryant Irvin Road
