Red Cross/AHNA Storm Preparedeness Event

August 21, 2011 · Filed Under Events and News

Back in May, Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association and The Red Cross teamed up with Walgreen’s and CW33’s Meterologist Rebecca Miller to help get the word out on how to be prepared for weather events in North Texas.

Red Cross Chisholm Trail Chapter co-sponsored with AHNA the
storm preparedness event held on the parking lot of Walgreen’s on Camp Bowie
Blvd and Hulen Street.  Free prizes,
including two weather radios, were given away in a drawing during the event.

AHNA members Meda Kessler
and Ralph Lauer stopped by to visit Rebecca Miller (center), chief meteorologist
on Channel 33, who was the guest of honor at the Red Cross/AHNA storm
preparedness event at Walgreen’s.   Meda
is the guru and editor-in-chief of 360 West Magazine.  Ralph is a super-talented freelance
photographer with many years of experience, including a long run at the Star
Telegram.  Rebecca’s favorite weather app
is RadarScope

The AHNA and the Citizens on Patrol tables were manned by COP Captain Jan Bourne, AHNA Executive Board
member Beth Kaufmann (who was one of the lucky winners of a weather radio), and
AHNA members Miriam and Dave Hermann
