SPRINGTIME EVENTS BLOSSOMING AT FORT WORTH BOTANIC GARDEN

Plant sale, April 10

The Botanic Garden’s spring plant sale is scheduled 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 10 in the Grove, the wooded area west of the Trial Garden and the Japanese Garden parking lot. The area features many native and adapted plants able to thrive in Texas heat and annual rainfall.

The event will offer a wide assortment of annuals, perennials, Texas Superstar plants, citrus trees, ornamental grasses, shade plants, shrubs, trees, tropicals and vegetables. Various plant societies will be on hand selling African violets, begonias, cactus and succulents and roses. It’s BYOW (bring your own wagon to haul plants away).

Free event parking will be available in the Linden Street parking lot.

 Fort Worth Spring Rose Show, April 24-25

Mark your calendars for the Fort Worth Spring Rose Show April 24-25. Hundreds of locally grown cut roses in vases will be on display in the Deborah Beggs Moncrief Garden Center at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Saturday hours are 1-5 p.m. and Sunday hours are noon to 5 p.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to stop and smell hundreds of roses as well as learn more about growing them. Gift drawings will be held and people joining the Fort Worth Rose Society will receive a free Earthkind rose bush.
Growers interested in entering roses in the show can do so from 7:30-9:30 a.m. April 24.
