TEXAS NATURE CHALLENGE

June 2, 2010 · Filed Under Events and News

The City of Fort Worth’s Nature Center & Refuge and the Fort Worth Zoo are two of several fun “mission” sites this summer in the Texas Nature Challenge, coordinated by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Texas A&M Forest Service and Houston Wilderness.

By accepting the challenge, residents will be given the mission to get the family and kids outdoors by visiting as many participating parks and nature areas in North Central Texas as they can this summer.

At each site participants will complete activities designed for family fun and nature exploration, provided in both English and Spanish. Participation prizes will be awarded at the closing ceremonies for the most sites visited, best scrapbook, best photo and more.

The Texas Nature Challenge runs through Aug. 7. Closing ceremonies will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 14 at River Legacy Living Science Center, 703 N.W. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington 76006.
