Tower 55 To Be Discussed at Public Meeting Feb. 18

February 18, 2009 · Filed Under Events and News

The North Central Texas Council of Governments will conduct two public meetings at noon and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center, 1001 Jones St., about potential railroad and roadway improvements associated with Tower 55.

Tower 55 –the area in downtown Fort Worth where BNSF Railway, Union Pacific Railroad, Fort Worth & Western Railroad, Amtrak and Trinity Railway Express rail lines converge — is the busiest at-grade railroad intersection in the country, and it is undergoing an environmental assessment study to improve air quality, safety and movement.

Information about all alternatives evaluated will be available, and the same information will be presented at both meetings. For more information, visit the North Central Texas Council of Governments Web site.
