UNT Health Science Center
To accommodate a growing student body and in continuing to meet the health care needs of our community, the UNT Health Science Center is adding more than 300,000 square feet of floorspace to its campus. Demolition on the former Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas was completed in mid-August, and the foundation for a new building is underway. Scheduled for completion and ready for use in January 2010, Building A will feature:
- Two 250-seat auditorium-style classrooms that can be joined into one 500-seat space, with state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment
- Size-flexible conference and meeting facilities on the first floor, which will allow for groups as small as 25, but can also be expanded to hold larger events
- A small café-style eating area
- Additional classroom and meeting space, separated from the auditorium by a 35-foot atrium
- A large osteopathic manipulative medicine training room
- A new, state-of-the-art patient simulator training facility
- Office space for our growing faculty
