WANT TO HELP FIGHT NEIGHBORHOOD CRIME?
Citizens on Patrol (COP) is made up of volunteers who work with the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) to fight neighborhood crime. Every October, the Arlington Heights COPs sponsor the ever-popular National Night Out party at Thomas Place Community Center to raise awareness about crime in our neighborhood.
To become a COP you must go through the Citizens Police Academy classes. FWPD is now accepting applications for this year’s academy. Classes are every Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m. starting on Tuesday September 3. Commencement is Thursday November 21. Classes are held at 1000 Calvert.
The COP program is designed to familiarize and educate community members about the training, commitment, and dedication required of a Fort Worth police officer. Anyone over the age of 18 with an interest in learning about police work is encouraged to apply. Deadline for applications is Thursday August 29, 2024.
Here is the application.
Email the application to tamelia.carroll@fortworthtexas.gov. If you have questions, call Officer Tamelia Carroll at 817-392-6001 or 817-988-1077.
