- Look at the proposed plans and ask questions
- Talk one on one to the project designers from Freese and Nichols and City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works
- Vote on what you like/don’t like, such as safe passage across Montgomery for pedestrians and vehicles, landscaping, lighting, bike lanes, park benches
- Explore creative ways to keep event parking and traffic off neighborhood streets (convert streets at Montgomery into dead ends, no cut through on landscaped median, right turn only out of neighborhood streets)

Come and learn what our firefighters do and how you can avoid becoming a victim of fire.
Also, on the evening’s agenda is the AHNA Nominating Committee’s presentation of the candidate slate for the 2016 Executive Board and Officers. Elections take place on Tuesday October 20.

AHNA Monthly Meeting – Tuesday, October 20
This meeting is about giving. Representatives from the Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) and Don’t Forget To Feed Me (DF2FM) will be the featured guests. These two non-profit organizations are dedicated to reducing hunger among our neighbors and their pets, too.
TAFB serves over two million meals a month to those in need and also provides them with resources and education for a pathway out of hunger. Our little furry friends need food, too. DF2FM is the only agency in the metroplex that provides pet food assistance to pet owners.
We need to do our part in reducing hunger. At this meeting, pick up a list of donated items that these two organizations will accept. AHNA is setting up donation collection sites, including at the Firefighter’s Hall on Tulsa Way and Thomas Place Community Center, that will be active through Thanksgiving.
This evening is also election night for the 2016 AHNA Executive Board and Officers. You must be an AHNA member who lives in the neighborhood in order to vote.

Everyone is welcome!
STOP, DROP and ROLL … are you familiar with these words?
Would you know what to do if a fire came to your house? What if a fire got on your clothes? Is your smoke alarm working? Do you know what CO2 is? These are the MOST important things to remember during this Fire Safety program. Fire Fighter J.R. Lopez and his side-kick, Ninfa, representing the Citizen’s Fire Academy will present these and other important pointers Tuesday night. There will be an upcoming class which is an 8 week course for comprehensive fire safety, including repelling, using equipment, and even fire investigation. Also, those who graduate will receive some CPR training. The class is open to folks 19 years old to seasoned citizens Our AHNA President, Brenda Helmer, has completed this course, and would DO IT AGAIN. Learn more Tuesday night to get in on this class and graduate as a Fort Worth Fire Academy Citizen.
Bring your kiddos … there will be photo ops with helmets and equipment, safety information, and perhaps a few surprises!
This is a great way to thank and honor our Firefighters for their brave and noble work!
