CLOVER LANE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

November 14, 2020 · Filed Under Events and News · Comments Off on CLOVER LANE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

The contractor is continuing to focus on completing the sidewalks, driveways and ADA-wheelchair ramps associated with the project. The roadway paving is now complete for the entire project, from Birchman Ave. to Camp Bowie Blvd. The road should be completely open for use, except for the area near Camp Bowie that is still undergoing pedestrian facilities improvements.

After completing the installation of the new storm sewer system in El Campo Ave. several months ago, the only task that remained on that street was to replace the pavement so that the street looks nice and new. The contract will begin working on that task this week.

The flatwork portion of the project (sidewalks, driveways, etc.) will last for a few more weeks. The new pavement on El Campo will be finished in by the end of November.

Here is a time line:
November 9-13: Finish up the majority of sidewalks and driveways remaining, repaving of El Campo Ave.

November 16-20: Project cleanup, installation of sod, concrete joint sealing, reinstallation of signs

November 23-27: Continue cleanup, reinstallation of historic bricks at Camp Bowie Blvd. intersection

The intersection of Camp Bowie Blvd. and Clover Lane will still experience temporary closures as pedestrian facilities are installed in and around the street. No other parts of Clover Lane should experience major closures.

As flatwork continues, there will be temporary closures of sidewalks and ramps which could cause pedestrians to seek alternative routes. El Campo Ave. between Belle Place and Clover Lane will have temporary closures once the street is being repaved. You will be notified in advance if access to your driveway is impeded.

No properties will experience water/sewer disruptions.

NOVEMBER YARD OF THE MONTH

November 8, 2020 · Filed Under Events and News · Comments Off on NOVEMBER YARD OF THE MONTH

On a hot week in June 2017, Joe P. Dena II moved into 4215 Pershing Avenue, fondly christening it “Pershing Manor.” Joe brought with him his love for design and landscape projects, along with a collection of irises straight from his grandmother’s home in McKinney. Inspired by visits to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, Joe has filled his front yard with white and green plantings and always adds seasonal touches, like pumpkins, scarecrows and mums for a pop of color. Joe says he gets a lot of joy out of seeing the smiles from his neighbors when they walk by–he thinks the dogs even smile.

His festive fall display has earned Joe AHNA’s November Yard of The Month award. We can’t wait to see what he does for Christmas. For his efforts, Joe receives a complimentary annual membership to AHNA and a $25 gift certificate to Archie’s Gardenland.

If you’d like to nominate a yard, even your own, please send your comments to
